Apparently in 2007 Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez decided to set the clocks in his country back 30 minutes to "provide a better distribution of sunrise for his people". WoW! I mean why not, it's all relative anyway right?
P.S. I really like the sound of "for his people", of course substituting the proper form to fit this particular incarnation -"her"-. It tickles my ego in just the right spot. Though I'm sure it's quite a responsibility to have a "people", I would REALLY like to be able to distribute sunrise and realign time. I must work on that.
